Ganesh Himal Singla pass Trekking

The name of the mountain "Ganesh Himal" is derived from the name of the elephant- headed god" Ganesh". Nepal is synonym of Mountain and village where you can see and feel real Nepal. Home Stay trekking is designed to discover real Nepali life style; various tradition cultures remain our human ancestors. Ruby valley is newly named after the exploration held by TAAN and GHTDC. "Ruby" is  a precious and a valued stone consisting of corundum in colour varities varying from deep crimson or purple to pale rose. it is rare but found in this area, so it is how the name come from.

Ganesh Himal Singla pass trekking offers the client meetings with typical real Nepalese people which also could be called an educational or cultural tour. You will stay in local people's houses where you find their familiar environment, so that you will see Nepalese people's real lifestyle. You will have face to face interaction with them. You will always be surrounded by the snow capped mountains, such as Mount Manasulu,, Lang Tang Himal, Ganesh Himal range and many more. From Mugu Danda, you can see more then 12 snowcapped peaks - a panoramic and magnificent view. You will see many different species of birds and animals while you walk across the forest. You will pass many beautiful waterfalls, rivers, forests, natural hot springs, fishing, hunting, holy lakes, and terraces on a pleasant natural trail.

One can experience its rich Flora: the impressive display of barbers, primula, orchids and a variety of Ferns, the forest dense with Spanish oak, blue pine, and in spring time blossoming of the rhododendron set whole forest alight in spectacular arrays of color.

There will not be a crowd of tourists and you will feel it is a natural experience. The people respect you, as you are a valued guest for them. There are different groups of people living in this area with different languages and cultures. You will be warmly welcomed by them and will be treated very well. Tourists cannot find this kind of trek in other trekking regions. Suggested Itinerary

Day 1 :Kathmandu-Sole Bazzar-Balche (1850m./6105ft.) 6 hours drive
Depart Kathmandu early morning to Balche by overland. The numerous small stone ‘houses’ that you pass throughout the day are actually water driven grinding mills. The last halfmile is steep uphill as you climb to our camp spot in the town of Balche. Head for the large poles with Buddhist prayer flags on them; you will camp just below them. Balche is a quaint hill town, spread out along tow or three flat regions on the slope. Large granitic gneiss spires and domes stand against the skyline above the town, creating a stunning sunset. The women here all dress traditionally, including very large, heavy earrings that are supported with a thin string over the head. We stay overnight there at tent.
Meals included : Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 2: Balche-Gonga (2910m./9600ft.) 6 hours walk
Today, you head into mostly uninhabited territory and the surrounding landscape changes accordingly, from terraced fields to forest. You head out of Balche ascending the hill behind the town. The large grassy area just northwest of town is one of the old grazing areas for royal herds of sheep and goats. The trail begins to level out and you enter the first jungle of our trek. Here, it is mostly rhododendron and kharsu. Kharsu leaves are good feed for cows and are subsequently cut periodically; creating tall, thin trees with few leaves. During spring treks, this area is stunning with bright red, white and purple rhododendron flowers covering the mountainsides. This is the forest gathering area for the town of Balche. The sounds of women cutting wood, gathering medicinal plants and bamboo, and leading their livestock to grazing areas further up on the slopes will fill the first half of our day. You stop for lunch in an especially pretty clearing with views down to Thulochaur, 400m below us. The remainder of the day is through dense jungle, to Gonga, a small 5-house town made entirely of wood (a commodity that is plentiful in this sparsely populated part of the Himalaya). The town is situated in a pass, separating the Nyam valley from the Saptang valley. We stay overnight there at tent.
Meals included : Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3: Gonga-Rupchet Kharka (3634m./11922ft.) 6 hours walk
Your route today is a beautiful ascent through old growth forests of rhododendron and fir. You head northwest from Gonga, slowly ascending through the jungle for 25 minutes to the small 3-house town of Mimatashi Karka. This town is only a few years old and is only seasonally inhabited. Continue ascending for another hour and 45 minutes through impressively large old growth fir and rhododendron forest (many of the fir trees are 1-1.75m in diameter!). The route flattens for an hour as you contour the mountain, before the last ascent (a very steep 175m) of the day to the ridgeline. 20 minutes from the top you arrive at Rupchet Karka, a large flat grassy area with 3 seasonal grazing huts and stunning views of the Central Himalaya. Across the Trisuli River valley to the northwest is the Langtang Himal (7225m, 23703ft) and Gosainkund. The sunsets from here are unparalleled as the crystalline peaks of Langtang and the broad highlands of Gosainkund sparkle in yellow and orange brilliance. We stay overnight there at tent.
Meals included : Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4: Rupchet Kharka-Singla pass-Sertung- Chalish village
You head out early for the climb up to Singla pass. There will likely be snow up here in the spring and late fall, so go slowly and enjoy the incredible scenery along the way. The route is steep, weaving through large boulders, spires and domes. It is only 300m up, but the altitude will make it feel like more. As you approach the final gentle uphill climb before the pass, Langtang looms overhead to the north and the peaks of Ganesh start to peak out ahead. Singla is really less a pass than the side of a peak, the top of which is only another 20 meters up a very gentle slope. On the pass (4001m, 13125ft), the world seems to fall away in three directions. To the west is the Manaslu massif, with Manaslu (8163m, 26780ft) poking up from behind the Ganesh Himal. To the northwest is the Ganesh Himal; Ganesh (7406m, 24296ft) and her sisters jut up from the valley below like large crystals thrust out of the earth, creating a stunning panorama of glaciers, peaks, rock, snow, and ice. The bottom of the gorge between Ganesh and us is over 3000m below. Descend to Chalish village via Sertung- A Tamang village. We stay overnight there at tent.

Chalish the most stunning hospitality village of the area where majority of Gurung people and small portion of Dalit people live together.
Meals included : Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5: Chalish gaon- Never Gaon ( 2020m./6666ft.) 5 hours walk
After breakfast, Our day begin walking downhill to Tatopani (hot spring) where you enjoy half of day taking bath and have lunch. This is probably the best hot springs in the area. After lunch, trek all way up to pristine Tamang village named Neber. Just from side of the village you will see the breath taking Ganesh Himal View just like your face and mirror (so close view). Enjoy high valley village stay with locals at their local house.
Meals included : Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 6 : Never - Lapa Gaon - (1850m./6105ft.)  5 hours walk
We climb up to Timla Pass (2850m), have a look the best stunning massive Ganesh Himal ranges and Langtang himal ranges from recently constructed view point by Nepal Mountaineering association ( NMA).  Its best flora and fauna experience as well as surrounding landscape will make you the best day of the trek. Passing through dense Himalayan alpine jungle is another charm of the trek. Trek with local guide is highly recommended as trek trail is not well marked in this area. After enjoying the scenery trek all the down stone and bit slippery downhill walking to Lapchat gaon, it is a charming Gurung village with nearly 30 homes. Cross the Lapa Khola on a box bridge and ascend along a trail surrounded by fields to the walled compound of a newly built hospital of the large town of Lapa gaon with over 400 homes. Lapa gaon also a big community of Tamang people where you will have a lots of opportunities to learn about Tamang culture. It has at least two local guest house and villagers are initiating to build more lodge for the tourist comfort. Simple food and simple formitory shelter but good enough for a night halt.
Meals included : Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 7: Lapa Gaon- Ri Gaon - (1550m./5115ft.)  5 hours walk
Discend to Chyamchyat village. Front side Jharlang area and down in the gorge Ankhu khola view lure any tourist walking on this way but it's a hilly terrain track walking so careful walking is highly recommended. Passing through local villages, paddy terraces and little bit of jungle finally arrive at Kutawal village where stop for lunch and trek continue via Tawal to Ri Gaon. Ri village has a big community of Tamang people and Dalit.
Meals included : Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
