3.12.2009 Our Ghorepani trek with Simbir & Kul was a great time. I greatly appreciated their thoughtfulness along the trek, at meal times during a friends’ sickness and in the villages. I would highly recommend them to a friend.

The Ghorepani - Poon Hill trek, located in the Annapurna region in the western part of Nepal, is truthfully called the best of trekking in all of Nepal. It is a short venture though nature rich in diversity.
This trek offers amazing mountain scenery, along with charming villages inhabited particularly by indigenous peoples such as Gurung and Magar. Trekkers pass through dense rhododendron forests, sub-tropical valleys filled with many different kinds of birds, mossy forests, and icy water falls where they can stop to cool their faces. Around every corner is an exciting glimpse of the high mountains. Whole horizons reveal themselves to you as you reach the high point of your trek. All lay down below the Annapurnas with the pictorial peak of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) dominating the skyline.
One of the main highlight of this trip is to make a climb on Poon Hill, possibly the most magnificent mountain view on earth, early in the morning. When the sun rises, it touches the snow-capped summits of the Himalayan giants, Dhaulagiri (8,167m/26951ft.) and Annapurna (8,091m) along with a web of other peaks. Like magic before your eyes, the peaks appear in the early dawn sunrise.
In addition, during your journey you are rewarded by immersion in the natural beauty, local people's life style, typical houses and territory in your each and every footstep.
