Annapurna Base Camp Trekking

Annapurna Base Camp via Poon hill Trek is a unique trek on the foothill of the Annapurna south specially intended for those who love to enjoy the flora and fauna, panoramic view of the Himalayan range in a comfortable way including Annapurna ranges, Dhaulagiri, Fishtail, Gangapurna, Himchul, and other Himalayan ranges. These wonderful views are arranged almost precisely in a circle about 10 miles in diameter with a deep glacier-covered amphitheater at the center. From this glacier basin, known as the Annapurna Sanctuary, the Modi Khola cuts its way south in a narrow gorge fully 12,000 ft. deep. Further south, the gorge opens up into a wide and fertile valley, the domain of the Gurungs.

This is model trek best called as a typical walk right into the heart of the mountains and our gentle walk start from lowland to the outstanding high mountains with the breathtaking view of the Annapurna range. The walk ends at a point where you are virtually surrounded by soaring Himalayan peaks.

The trek involves several ascents and descents but not so tough to attempt as there are several alternative routes to the sanctuary, all meeting at Chomrong Village. In addition, during the journey, you are rewarded by the natural beauties, local people's lifestyle, typical houses, the territory in your each & every footstep.

The trek is also known with different names like Annapurna Sanctuary Trek or Annapurna Basecamp tour. Regardless of the name, you can hike, tour, walk or explore the beauty of the Annapurna region with the same intensity and passion with us.

This is my first visit to Nepal and this trek has been nothing short of perfect. Mr Dilip and our porter Mr. Lal were excellent nothing was too much trouble and the views were incredible! The highlight was the dawn trek up to poon hill to see the sun rise over the mountains. Mr. Tej arranged everything and after the trek for our trip to Bhaktapur for the Nepali new year. A fantastic trip with a fantastic company 11/10 if I ever come to Nepal again I’ll use this company without hesitation.

This was very memorable trip! Most of all, the service we received from Nepal alternative was expectative. Everyone in the organization was friendly, flexible and polite. First of all, they were extremely helpful and understanding. They easily adjusted our trip, one day late and attended to my needs while waiting for my daughter to arrive. As well, on our trek, we were treated “royally”. They had a sense of humor. We felt “light at home” and they explained many details to us which enriched our experience. We highly recommend this team for trekking to anyone who is wishing Nepal.

Mr. Kunal Pinto

I had a great trip over my 5 days in Nepal. Only regret was that It went my so quickly and that I am not able to stay for longer. My guide Dilip shrestha was awesome and I highly recommend him for anyone else planning a trekking adventure in Nepal. Tej put together a great itinerary considering my stay was so short. All my emails and correspondence with Nepal alternative treks went very smoothly and professionally and all my questions were answered promptly and with all the information required. I had an amazing trip thanks in large part to Dilip and Nepal alternative trek; nothing but good things to say.
Cheers, Kunal
