Langtang trekking !!! Deluxe Trip

Langtang trekking begins in the lower Langtang Valley, trekking through its forests and among the villages and farmlands of its people, many of who are of Tibetan origin but now known as" Tamang". This area is rich of Tibetan culture, typical way of their living, and Buddhist Monastery, Chorten, Mani wall and prayer wheel. This was once an important trading route with Tibet, so that most of the villagers and peoples are involved in trade.

On the way of journey, you will walk through Langtang National Park. Although wildlife is never easy to spot in a forest setting, there we get the chances of seeing some interesting animals and birds. Among those found in the park are monkeys, musk deer, Pika and the national bird of Nepal, the colorful danphe. At Langtang village, we continue to Kyangjin Gompa (3,740 m), which is the site of the Yak Cheese Factory. There is a STOL airstrip at Chhaldang, a short distance east of Kyangjin.

As we visit to the Yak Cheese Factory, from there we view the small lakes beyond Yala, that can be reached within half a day from Kyangjin Gompa.

Day 3: Kathmandu –Dhunche
We drive private Jeep to Dhunche (1966m./6487ft.) 6 hours then head north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Dhunche. The first part of your drive upto Trishuli Bazaar is quite smooth. The path now moves along the gravel road. During the rainy season, the way is sometime blocked due to landslides. Stay overnight at lodge in Dhunche on FB basis.

Day 4 : Dhunche - Syabru Gaun( Village)
The trek leads to Syabru Gaon (2581m./8517ft.) which takes about 5/6 hours walking. The trek today is very leisurely through forests and terraced hill slopes. As you enter Syabru, you descend to the ridgeline that separates the Langtang Khola from the Trisuli River. Syabru is a beautiful village stretched out along the ridgeline. The sunset is spectacular; brilliantly backlighting the houses perched on the ridgeline above. From here you can enjoy magnificent view of Mt. Ganesh Himal, Lantang Lirung, Tibetan Himal ranges and so on. Stay there overnight at lodge on FB basis.

Day 5 : Syabru Gaun - Lama Hotel
The trail ascend to Lama Hotel (2470m./8151ft.) and it takes 5 hours walking. The trail descends in the beginning along the ridge on Syabru's main street and then drop to the Ghopche Khola and again descends to the Landslide. Afterwards, your trek ascends gently to Rimche walking through bamboo forest and water fall then you reaches to the Lama Hotel. En route you will see red pandas, monkey and bear if you are lucky. Stay there overnight at lodge on FB basis.

Day 6 : Lama Hotel -Langtang Village
The trek continue to ascend gradually to Langtang village (3430m./11319ft.) 6 hours walking. As you continue climbing there are occasional glimpses of Langtang Lirung between the trees. As you reach Ghora Tabela, the trail emerges from the forest. While walking here, you can catch a glimpse of white monkeys and local birds. Once there was a Tibetan resettlement project, but now it is a Nepalese army post though it has no permanent inhabitants. The trail continues to climb gently and the valley widens, passing a few temporary settlements used by herders who bring their livestock to graze in the high pastures during the summer months. There is a monastery which we can visit shortly before arriving at the village of Langtang, the headquarters of the Langtang National Park. The houses of Langtang and its neighboring villages are of the flat-roofed Tibetan style, surrounded by stone walls enclosing fields of buckwheat, potatoes, wheat, turnips and barley. Stay there overnight at lodge on FB basis.

Day 7 : Langtang Village -Kyanjing
Trek from Langtang Village to Kyangjin(3980m./13134ft.) which takes about 3 hours. The trail climbs gradually through small villages and yak pastures as the valley opens out further and the views become more extensive. After crossing several small streams and moraines, the trail reaches the settlement at Kyangjin. Here is a small monastery and a government-operated cheese factory. We should arrive at Kyangjin by lunch time allowing time to acclimatize and explore the area. It is a dramatic setting, with snow covered peaks surrounding us in all directions. At this point, you can enjoy the panoramic view of Dorje Lakpa (6990m.), Langtang Ri (6370m.), Langtang Lirung (7245m.) and so on. We stay there overnight at lodge on FB basis.

Day 8 : Explore
We explore the side hikes today. You will have four major different choices to visit as: walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung, ascend Kyangjin Ri [4350m], climb Tserku ri ( 5350m.) or walk to Langsisa Kharka. We recommend you to climb ascend Kyangjin Ri for good view and easy ascend though we will take you any of those places as your interest after we brief  you about them. We will stay at same lodge overnight on FB basis after we come back from you day trip.

Day 9 : Kyanjing Gompa - Lama Hotel
We walk 6 hours down to Lama Hotel (2470m./8151ft.) . From Kyangjin you retrace your route, following the Langtang Khola to Langtang village and on to Ghora Tabela. After lunch you continue descent to Lama Hotel. Stay there overnight at lodge on FB basis.

Day 10 : Lama Hotel -syabru Besi
Trek down to Syabru Besi(1600m./5280ft.) via Sherpa Gaon which takes 5 hours. The upper part of the trail is more beautiful for the panoramic view of mountains and green hill views. This path is broader and remains sunny through the different Shepra and Tamang villages. The first half part of the trail is gradually down and then the trail does steeply descent to the Syabru Besi . There was run a project called Chilime Power Plant. The main inhabitants belong to Tamang community and they have adopted Tibetan lifestyle. Stay there overnight at lodge on FB basis.
